Red Nose Day exploded back onto screens Friday night, smashing records with a staggering £34,022,590 raised for Comic Relief 2025. Broadcasting live from Salford’s MediaCity, the star-studded event delivered a powerful blend of comedy, entertainment, and heartfelt appeals to fight poverty and hardship across the UK and beyond.

Comedy Legends Light Up the Screen

The night featured a glittering cast of hosts including Joel Dommett, Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Tom Allen, Alesha Dixon, and AJ Odudu. They kept the laughs coming and the donations flowing all evening long.

Iconic moments included a hilarious Oasis reunion spoof starring The Inbetweeners duo James Buckley and Joe Thomas, imagining the Britpop giants back on tour. Not to be outdone, comedic fan favourite Chabuddy G from People Just Do Nothing crashed a Gladiators sketch as “Girth, Wind and Fire,” sparking riotous laughter both in-studio and online.

The show also featured themed appearances from Strictly Come Dancing, Gladiators, and Beyond Paradise, mixing sharp humour with touching stories, staying true to Red Nose Day’s unique spirit.

Millions Raised for Life-Saving Causes

The jaw-dropping £34 million-plus haul will fund Comic Relief’s vital projects, providing food, healthcare, shelter, and support to those battling poverty worldwide.

This year marks a massive milestone: 40 years since Comic Relief’s inception. Over four decades, the charity has raised more than £1.6 billion and helped over 100 million people globally.

Co-founder and comedy legend Sir Lenny Henry was honoured during the show. Reflecting on four decades of giving through laughter, he said: “The power of laughter to change lives remains as true today as it did in 1985.”
