Residents were shaken awake by three loud explosions near the car park just after 2am. One eyewitness captured the moment a car exploded into a ball of flames, shortly before firefighters swooped in to tackle the inferno.

Fire crews from Gosport battled the flames, but police are still hunting the pyromaniac terrorising the streets.

Police Appeal for Witnesses as Panic Grows

This marks the third vehicle set alight in a recent spree that’s causing serious concern locally. Police tweeted about earlier attacks on a Peugeot 107 and a VW Transporter, both destroyed in fires on Frater Lane and Blackthorn Drive.

Firefighters were also called out to a Vauxhall Astra set ablaze at around 2am, marking the third suspected arson attack on the same road in two nights.

More Fires Raise Alarm – Police Tight-Lipped

Police spent Friday investigating a fire in a store cupboard at the former White Swan pub, now flats, but say they aren’t linking this to the vehicle arson attacks.

Locals report a scooter and another car have also been torched nearby. Despite growing fears, police have declined to comment on the latest attack as investigations continue.

The community is on high alert while officers search for the pyromaniac behind these destructive attacks. Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately.
