Alarm at Kent Hospital as Staff Member Exposed to Coronavirus
Hospital bosses at Sevenoaks in Kent called an urgent meeting this afternoon after a staff member revealed she had contact with a confirmed coronavirus carrier over the weekend. The person she encountered has tested positive and is one of the 40 confirmed UK cases.
Four New UK Cases Confirmed
Public Health England announced four new coronavirus cases today, heightening concern at the hospital. The unnamed staff member is believed to work within a department at Sevenoaks Hospital.
Previous COVID Scare at Minor Injuries Unit
This follows an earlier scare involving another staff member from the hospital’s Minor Injuries Department. Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust has been approached for comment but has yet to respond.
