Chilling Stockwell Murder: Two Found Guilty of Killing Lathaniel
Omar Prempeh, 33, from Forest Hill, and 18-year-old Neo Duodu-Watson, Southwark, have been convicted of murdering Lathaniel in a shocking shooting on March 4, 2025, in Stockwell. The victim was blasted twice in the chest outside a block of flats on Paradise Road before the gun jammed.
Shot Outside Flats – Victim Collapses and Dies
Despite being hit, Lathaniel managed to stagger a short distance before collapsing by a fence, where he tragically died. Duodu-Watson, wearing a bright orange Eat delivery jacket and riding a stolen moped, fled the scene fast.
He then joined Prempeh, who was waiting nearby in a car.
CCTV Reveals Hours of Cruel Planning and Shocking Bragging
Police footage shows the pair cruising the attack area for hours before carrying out the hit. After the killing, Duodu-Watson coldly gloated about “winning the beef” in a drill music track, openly mocking rival gangs in Stockwell.
Drugs, Bullets and Delivery Jacket Found at Flat Hideout
Officers raided a flat on Union Road used by the killers before and after the murder. Inside, they uncovered drugs, bullets, and packaging matching the delivery jacket Duodu-Watson wore during the shooting.
The flat served as a base for drug dealing and plotting attacks. Duodu-Watson was supposed to be under electronic monitoring but had tampered with his tag to create a false alibi.
Family and Police Demand Justice and Vigilance
“Nearly a year on and we still cannot believe Lathaniel is gone. He was so beautiful inside and out and our lives will never be the same again,” said his heartbroken family. “We pray he receives the justice he deserves.”
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee of the Met Police condemned the crime: “This murder had a deeply troubling element of child exploitation at its core. Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility.”
She urged communities to report any suspicions of exploitation to police or Crimestoppers.
Retrial Looms for Other Suspects
The jury could not reach verdicts on three other defendants, including Jeffrey Frimpong and two teenagers. A retrial is set for later this year.
Prempeh and Duodu-Watson await sentencing following the retrial’s conclusion.
