Police Investigate Brutal Murder of Woman in Maryhill Home
Woman Found Dead in Maryhill Flat
Police were called to Cumlodden Drive, Maryhill, just after 5.20pm on Tuesday. Inside, they discovered the body of 54-year-old Jacqueline Grant. Relatives have been informed of her tragic death.
Murder Inquiry Underway After Post-Mortem
Initially treated as suspicious, the case was upgraded to murder following a post-mortem. Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Grainger said: “Jacqueline died as a result of a brutal attack in her home and her family are devastated by what has happened.”
A dedicated police team is combing through forensic evidence, conducting thorough searches of the home and surrounding area.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby flats and streets. They are also speaking to neighbours, residents, and local businesses to gather vital information.
Detective Chief Inspector Grainger added: “We’re keen to hear from anyone in the area between the evening of Monday, April 5, and the early hours of Tuesday, April 6. Even the smallest details could help.”
