The bodies of Emma Pattison, 45, her husband George, 39, and their seven-year-old daughter Lettie were found early Sunday morning at their home on the grounds of Epsom College, the UK’s current Independent School of the Year. The heartbreaking discovery has shocked the community.

Emma Pattison, Head of Epsom College, was praised as a “wonderful teacher” and a “delightful person” with a “distinguished career.” Dr Alastair Wells, Chair of the Board of Governors, said:

“Our immediate thoughts and condolences are with Emma’s family, friends, and colleagues. She enriched the lives of many pupils and staff. We ask for time and respect to come to terms with this tragic loss.”

Police Investigate, No Third-Party Suspected

Surrey Police responded at 1:10 a.m. after an emergency call from South East Coast Ambulance Service. A spokesman confirmed the deaths of Emma, George, and Lettie, and said the family’s next of kin have been informed and supported.

Officers say the incident appears isolated, with no third-party involvement. Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey offered condolences, stating:

“We will conduct a thorough investigation and hope to bring some peace in these traumatic circumstances. We ask that privacy is respected.”
