Two South Wales Fire and Rescue Service legends have scooped top marks in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Serving officer Shaun Moody and Fire Authority Chair Councillor Tudor Davies have both been recognised for their exceptional service.
Firefighter Shaun Moody: A Global Rescue Icon
Group Manager Shaun Moody bagged the British Empire Medal (BEM) thanks to his tireless dedication to saving lives. Shaun’s expertise in search and rescue has taken him all over the world, from earthquake zones in Sumatra and Nepal to training firefighters across Europe, Ghana, Russia, and Romania.

At 81, Councillor Tudor Davies has earned an MBE for 37 years of relentless service in Caerphilly and as Chair of the Fire Authority. His leadership slashed fire deaths to record lows while saving £2 million by smartly reviewing fire station locations.
