Drama on Hurst Road as Mercedes Crashes Into Bexley Garden

Mercedes Launches Off Road, Smashes Into Home

A terrifying crash was caught on camera as a Mercedes careered off Hurst Road and landed in a front garden in Bexley just before 8.40pm on Saturday. Footage from a doorbell camera shows the car lifting off the ground after smashing into a parked car on a driveway. The impact sent the parked vehicle hurtling sideways, hurling debris everywhere.

Chaos and Damage Left in Wake of Crash

The smash-up didn’t stop there. A telegraph pole and walls of two neighbouring homes were wrecked, confirmed a Metropolitan Police spokesperson. Inside one of the houses, Karen Hearn and her child were lucky to escape unharmed. The 35-year-old told us:

“It was a massive shock when we heard a loud bang from outside the house. When the car hit the garden wall, all the bricks flew onto the house, smashing the window of my unborn child’s nursery.”

“Fortunately, my child was in my bedroom at the time. I had no idea what would have happened if anyone had been in the nursery.”

Residents Demand Action as Speeding Woes Continue

Next-door neighbour Duncan, 61, revealed locals have long feared for their safety on Hurst Road. He said:

“We were shocked and rushed outside when we heard a bang. But I’m not surprised — cars are constantly speeding down this road.”

“There’s a school nearby, so this is dangerous for kids too. Something needs to be done urgently to stop this.”

Injured Taken to Hospital—But No Life-Threatening Wounds

Emergency crews arrived quickly and treated two people at the scene before rushing them to hospital. Thankfully, authorities say their injuries are not life-threatening. Police are still investigating the crash while Hurst Road remains cordoned off.
