Mercedes crashes into Bexley garden in terrifying high-speed smash

Shocking crash caught on doorbell cam

A Mercedes careered off the road and crashed into a front garden in Bexley, captured in chilling footage from a doorbell camera on Hurst Road. The incident happened just before 8.40pm on Saturday.

The clip shows the Mercedes lifting off the ground as it slams into a parked car, pushing it sideways and sending bricks and debris flying everywhere.

Homes and garden walls left wrecked

Damage was severe: a telegraph pole snapped, garden walls of two neighbouring houses smashed, and a nursery window shattered by flying bricks.

Homeowner Karen Hearn was inside with her child when the crash happened. She called the outcome “a miracle”.

“It was a massive shock when we heard a loud bang from outside the house,” said the 35-year-old. “When the car hit the garden wall, all the bricks flew off onto the house, smashing the window of my unborn child’s nursery.”

Thankfully, her child was in another room at the time, sparing them from injury.

Local residents demand action

Duncan, 61, who lives next door, voiced fears over ongoing speeding on Hurst Road.

“We were shocked and rushed outside when we heard a bang from the street. But I’m not surprised. Cars are constantly speeding down this road.” “With a school nearby, it’s dangerous for the kids. Something urgent needs to be done to stop this from happening again.”

Casualties treated, road cordoned off

Emergency crews cordoned off the area to investigate. Two people were treated at the scene and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The terrifying smash highlights growing concerns over road safety in the community. Locals want urgent measures to prevent further crashes.
