Baby Girl, 7 Months, Dies After Family Dog Attack in Coventry

A seven-month-old baby girl has died after being brutally mauled by her family dog at their home in Coventry. The horror unfolded on Sunday afternoon at a property on Shorncliffe Road.

West Midlands Police said: “We were called to a property on Shorncliffe Road just after 3 PM on Sunday. Together with ambulance crews, we arrived within minutes. Sadly, the baby suffered severe head injuries from the dog bite.”

Despite rapid paramedic treatment and being rushed to hospital, the infant tragically passed away shortly afterwards.

Dog Destroyed as Police Launch Investigation

The dog involved is not classed as a dangerous breed. Police have confirmed the animal was destroyed following the attack.

“Our thoughts remain with the family at this devastating time,” a police spokesperson said.
