Shocking Videos Show Gunman on the Loose
Social media is buzzing with chilling footage. One clip shows a man in a fluorescent orange jacket and white helmet chasing a victim into a building. Another video, reportedly from the attacker, claims he is an Islamic State (IS) fighter, calling himself a “fighter for Allah.”
Belgian media say the assailant wielded an automatic rifle and fled the scene shortly after the shooting, which happened around 7pm local time (6pm BST).

The victims were wearing Sweden football shirts, prompting huge shock. The Euro 2024 qualifier between Belgium and Sweden was stopped at halftime. Players refused to continue amidst the chaos, with fans held inside the stadium for safety until they could be escorted out.
Terror Alert Raised to Highest Level in Brussels
Belgium’s National Crisis Centre immediately raised the terror alert in Brussels to the highest level on Monday night. The rest of Belgium saw a heightened alert just below the top tier.
“We are monitoring the situation and would like to ask the residents of Brussels to be vigilant,” said Belgium’s Prime Minister Alexander De Croo on X (formerly Twitter), expressing deep condolences to the victims’ families.
The hunt for the gunman continues as the city remains on edge. Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
