Shock stabbing in sleepy Sussex village leaves three hurt and one arrested

Triple stabbing shakes Cootham community

Emergency crews rushed to Pulborough Road, Cootham, near Storrington, just after 7:25 PM on Thursday, January 16 following reports of a stabbing involving three people.

Two seriously hurt, third victim found later

Paramedics treated a 30-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman at the scene. The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, but the man remains in serious condition.

Police later discovered a 28-year-old male victim who was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Arrest made as police hunt for witnesses

A 28-year-old man from Cootham was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has video footage to come forward. Reports can be made online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Brandy.
