Nottingham Murder Probe After Fatal Stabbing

Detectives have launched a murder investigation and made two arrests following a fatal stabbing in Nottingham city centre.

Man, 22, Dies After Stabbing at Busy Junction

Police were called to High Cross Leys, where Huntingdon Street meets Woodborough Road, at around 7.50am on Friday, 28 April. A 22-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds. Paramedics rushed him to hospital, but he was pronounced dead at 9.36am.

Formal identification of the victim is yet to take place.

Two Men Held Over Brutal Attack

Officers arrested two men, aged 38 and 60, on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody as inquiries continue. Police are combing the scene with forensic teams, carrying out house-to-house inquiries, and analyzing CCTV footage.

Extra patrols have been rolled out to reassure Nottingham residents, with a strong police presence expected in the area while the investigation unfolds.

Detective Pleads for Information

“Our thoughts are with this man’s family at this incredibly difficult time and I would ask that their privacy is respected,” said Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, who is leading the investigation.

“We have a large team working tirelessly to understand the circumstances. We do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.

“We urge anyone with information, CCTV, or dash-cam footage from the area at the time to come forward. If you have concerns, please speak to our officers.”
