Man Seriously Injured in Daytime Attack on The Parade
Police rushed to The Parade shortly after 3 p.m. today (24/07) after reports of a disturbance. They found a man in his 30s with a serious neck injury. He was quickly rushed to hospital, but thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Suspect Arrested Fast After Busy Sunday Incident
Officers launched a swift search of the area and arrested a local 30-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy from Swindon CID said: “I know this incident will have caused concern amongst the local community, especially since it happened during a busy Sunday afternoon in the town centre.”
“I am pleased to report that we made an arrest quickly and have a suspect in custody. Our investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t yet spoken to police to get in touch.”
