Horrific Assault in Banstead Park: Police Hunt Hooded Attacker
Surrey Police are urgently appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a woman was sexually assaulted in Nork Park, Banstead, last Wednesday morning (14 April).
Victim Attacked While Jogging
The victim was running through the wooded area of Nork Park around 8.30am when a man suddenly approached her, pushed her to the ground, and attempted to pull down her leggings. Thankfully, the woman fought back and the attacker fled the scene.
Suspect Description Revealed
The suspect is described as a thin man, about 6ft 1, wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up, grey jogging bottoms, and a black fabric face covering pulled up to his eyes. He reportedly spoke with an Irish accent.
Police and Community Urged to Help
“Incidents like this are obviously a cause for concern,” said Detective Sergeant Ben Kirby. “We’re doing all we can to identify and arrest this man quickly. The victim has been left extremely shaken, and we’re providing specialist support.”
