Hero Dog Walkers Rescue Drunk Woman from Rising Tide in East Cowes

Two quick-thinking dog walkers have been hailed heroes after spotting a woman asleep under a blanket on an East Cowes beach – just as the tide was closing in.

Frozen Under Blanket as Tide Creeps In

Out on a Friday evening stroll with their dog, the pair found the woman passed out under a blue blanket. She appeared to be drunk and unresponsive despite their desperate calls to wake her.

By the time they alerted Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police, the incoming tide had already reached waist height around her.

Police Praise Timely Intervention: “She Could Have Died”

Officers who rushed to the scene praised the dog walkers’ swift action. “She was very lucky we noticed her and called us,” one officer said. “It could have easily been a death by morning.”

Police have since spoken to the woman, who remains in shock but is now safe and out of danger.
