Motorcyclist Airlifted with Life-Threatening Injuries After Dorset Crash

In a harrowing incident on the evening of February 23, 2024, a serious collision on the A354 near Milborne St Andrew, close to Bere Regis in Dorset, resulted in a motorcyclist being airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s from Weymouth, was involved in a crash with a car under circumstances that are currently being investigated by the police.

Authorities are urgently appealing to the public for assistance, specifically requesting any dashcam footage from drivers who were on the A354 at the time of the incident. Sergeant Lee Savage of the Dorset Police Roads Policing Team emphasized the importance of gathering evidence to ascertain the full details of the collision. He has called on witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to aid in the investigation.

Sergeant Savage stated, “We are investigating this matter to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident to please contact us.” He also highlighted the significance of reviewing dashcam footage for anyone who was in the vicinity on the evening of the crash, to determine if they have captured the collision or any activity of the motorcycle before the incident.

In addition to the appeal for information, Sergeant Savage extended his gratitude to the community for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These measures, while causing temporary inconvenience, are crucial for allowing emergency services to respond effectively and to ensure a thorough examination of the crash site.

This tragic event has brought together law enforcement and the community in a joint effort to piece together the circumstances leading up to the collision. The Dorset Police are keen on gathering as much information as possible to provide clarity on the incident and to take appropriate actions based on their findings.
