12-Year-Old Boy Shot in Sheffield Drive-By Attack
A 12-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being hit by a bullet in a chilling drive-by shooting in Sheffield.
Shots Fired Near Arbourthorne
Police were called just before 3.45pm today after reports of gunfire in the Arbourthorne area. The boy suffered a leg injury and was treated at hospital, where his condition is stable.
The gunman, driving a white car, opened fire on a group of children and adults before speeding off towards East Bank Road.
Police On High Alert
Detective Inspector Denise Booth from South Yorkshire Police said:
“Specialist officers have been at the scene all afternoon and evening, speaking to witnesses and collecting evidence. We are working hard to understand exactly how this happened and to find those responsible.”
“The boy was with a group on Errington Road when the white car drove past, firing shots from the window. We are exploring every angle to establish a motive.”
“We know this will shock the community, especially given the victim’s age. That’s why we have boosted patrols tonight and over the coming days to keep people safe.”
