A 71-year-old woman has been charged over a crash in Petts Wood that left a man seriously injured.

On the afternoon of August 15 last year, emergency crews scrambled to Station Square, Petts Wood, after a car smashed into a fence. A man was seriously hurt and rushed to hospital.

Grandma Behind the Wheel Faces Court

Yvonne Ornstein, from Buttermere Road, Orpington, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 29. She was charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving while driving a Mercedes Kompressor.

No plea was entered. The case has been sent to Croydon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing next month.
