Drunk Baillie Patrick admits hammer attack on van driver in Shard End

Brutal Assault Over Money Dispute

Baillie Patrick, from Birmingham, pleaded guilty to robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, and criminal damage at Birmingham Crown Court. The shocking attack happened on 18 October last year when Patrick launched a vicious, unprovoked assault on a 41-year-old van driver in Shard End.

Sledgehammer Savage

Patrick claimed the victim owed him money but chose violence instead of talk. He punched the driver and hammered him repeatedly with a sledgehammer. The assault didn’t stop there – Patrick also smashed the victim’s Mercedes van, causing hundreds of pounds in damage.

Drunk and Remorseful

Patrick was arrested at the scene, clearly drunk. While in custody, he told police he had no memory of the attack. He later reversed his claim and admitted his guilt.
