Masked Machete Madness in Farnborough: Gregory Small Jailed for Bladed Attack
Violent Attack on Queens Road
Gregory Small, from Cedar Road, Farnborough, has been locked up after a terrifying assault involving a machete. During a dramatic three-day trial, Small was found guilty of attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH) and affray. He was sentenced to one year for the affray charge.
String of Violent and Drug Crimes
Small’s violent antics didn’t stop there. He had already admitted threatening someone with a bladed weapon in public, earning him a hefty 18-month prison sentence. On top of that, back in March 2020, he was convicted of possessing cannabis with intent to supply, resulting in a four-month stretch behind bars. He also served one month for drug possession.
Seven and a Half Years Behind Bars
All sentences will run concurrently, meaning Small faces a total of seven and a half years locked up. Salisbury Crown Court heard that on August 27, 2019, Small was spotted on Queens Road, Farnborough, wildly swinging a machete at a group of four men while wearing a chilling black ‘Scream’ mask and a cape-style coat.
Violence Escalates, Self-Defence Accepted
One of the men suffered cuts to his abdomen and hand, plus bruises to his forearm. The others fought back, flooring Small and causing another group member to sustain arm lacerations. The four men then sped off in a vehicle. When police arrived, they found the machete in Small’s car. Small was hospitalised with a fractured skull, bruises, and abrasions to his head, face, shoulder, and thigh.
The court accepted the victims’ response as self-defence. No action will be taken against the four men involved.
