Francis Sanderson has been found guilty at Inverness High Court for a shocking spree of domestic abuse crimes.
Between 2008 and 2020, Sanderson targeted six women across Moray, Easter Ross, and Inverness, leaving a trail of physical and sexual abuse.
Detective Inspector Slams Abuser’s Reign
Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo hit out: “Francis Sanderson perpetrated domestic abuse offences for many years and has today been held accountable for his conduct.”
He described Sanderson as “a controlling and dangerous individual who launched a sustained campaign of physical and sexual abuse throughout his adult life.”
Patullo added: “With this sentence, Sanderson will face consequences for years to come.”
Strong Message Against Domestic Abuse
“His conviction sends a clear message that domestic abuse will not be tolerated in modern Scotland,” said Patullo.
“Police Scotland are committed to robustly investigating such crimes to protect victims.”
The detective also extended support to victims: “I hope today’s sentencing brings some closure so they can move on with their lives.”
Help is Out There
Patullo urged anyone suffering domestic abuse to come forward: “It’s never too late to report to police or seek advice from partner agencies like Women’s Aid.”
