Brutal Abuser Francis Sanderson Sentenced After Years of Terrorising Women
Francis Sanderson has been found guilty of a string of horrific crimes against six women across Moray, Easter Ross, and Inverness. The abuse spanned more than a decade, from 2008 to 2020.
A Decade of Horror
Sanderson’s offences involved a relentless campaign of physical and sexual abuse. Police described him as a controlling and dangerous man who carried out a “torrent of domestic abuse” throughout his adult life.
Police Speak Out
Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo said: “Francis Sanderson perpetrated domestic abuse offences for many years and has today been held accountable for his conduct.
“His conviction sends a clear message: domestic abuse will not be tolerated in modern Scotland and will be thoroughly investigated by Police Scotland.
“I want to acknowledge the victims and hope this sentence brings them some closure so they can move forward with their lives.
“If you are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse, it is never too late to report it or seek support from agencies like Women’s Aid.”
Justice Served
Sanderson now faces years behind bars. His sentencing underlines the firm stance Scottish police take against domestic abuse and offers hope to victims across the region.
