Brutal Abuser Locked Up for Four Years

Lewis Edward Arnold Jones, 29, has been jailed for four years after tormenting his partner with years of relentless abuse. The ex-Kettering man’s controlling and violent behaviour left his victim scarred both physically and mentally.

Years of Abuse Uncovered

Jones dominated every aspect of the woman’s life. He dictated what she wore, isolated her from friends, and controlled her finances. He monitored her phone and hurled constant verbal insults.

The abuse wasn’t just emotional. On one horrific occasion, Jones stabbed her in the ankle. On another, he kicked her down the stairs. The victim was left with terrifying flashbacks and ongoing trauma.

Justice Served at Northampton Crown Court

In 2021, the courageous woman reported the nightmare to Northamptonshire Police. Jones was charged with wounding with intent and controlling or coercive behaviour. He admitted guilt on the first day of his trial in October.

On Tuesday, November 6, Northampton Crown Court sentenced him to four years behind bars.

Victim’s Voice and Police Praise

In a powerful victim impact statement read in court, the survivor spoke of feeling worthless and the daily struggle to move on from the abuse.

“This woman has been exceptionally brave in coming forward and telling police about the years of abuse she endured. We never underestimate how difficult doing this is and I am so pleased that we have managed to jail her abuser as a result.” – Detective Constable Lee Norton

DC Norton added, “People like Lewis Jones rely on silence to hold power. When that silence is broken, victims can break free. Tackling violence against women and girls remains a priority for Northamptonshire Police, and we will continue to bring offenders to justice.”
