Prison time handed down

Today, the courtroom handed down tough jail sentences: Jones was sentenced to 34 months, Lorriman to 27 months behind bars.

Detective praises swift police work and issues warning

Detective Constable Yas Hussain said: “This case involved a vulnerable victim, so I carried out extensive enquiries with him providing support as we worked to obtain the best evidence possible.

“Thankfully, CCTV provided clear images of the defendants caught in the act, leading to early guilty pleas.

“Thanks to swift arrests, most of the stolen money has been recovered and will soon be returned to the victim.

“Unfortunately, there will always be those who exploit vulnerable people. I urge anyone with vulnerable friends or family to warn them to be cautious about strangers gaining entry to their homes.”
