Man Found Guilty of Murdering Girlfriend in Bournemouth
Alberto Fioletti, 31, from Fordingbridge, was convicted of murder on Friday 8 December 2023 after a four-week trial at Bournemouth Crown Court.
Fatal Meeting Turns Deadly
On 12 May 2023, Fioletti arranged to meet his girlfriend, 34-year-old Stephanie Hodgkinson, at her home in Rosemount Road, Bournemouth. They planned to discuss their relationship.
CCTV captured Fioletti heading towards the address just before noon.
‘I Killed My Girlfriend’ – Disturbing Emergency Call
At 12:17pm, emergency services received a chilling call from Fioletti, who said, “I killed my girlfriend.” He also mentioned he had self-inflicted injuries.
Police rushed to the scene, forced entry, and tragically found Stephanie dead inside with multiple stab wounds.
Fioletti was at the property and was treated by paramedics for stomach wounds. He was arrested and stayed in police custody at hospital until 24 May.
Admits Murder After Breakup
Once discharged, Fioletti was taken to custody and interviewed by detectives. He confessed to killing Stephanie, blaming anger over their seven-month relationship ending.
The post-mortem confirmed Stephanie died from stab wounds to the chest.
Following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, Fioletti was charged with murder.
He faces sentencing on Monday 15 January 2024.
