Netley Abbey Man Guilty of Historic Child Sex Crimes

Alan Kenneth Jerrim, from Wykeham Road, Netley Abbey, was found guilty of multiple child sex offences on Monday 26 July. The offender faces four counts of indecent assault and one charge of assault by penetration involving girls under 13.

Jerrim’s crimes were committed against two separate victims in Hamble between 1981 and 1983.

Sentencing Set for September

Jerrim will be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Monday 2 September. The case was handled by Hampshire Constabulary’s Amberstone Unit.

Officer Praises Victims’ Bravery

Police Constable Nicole Houghton, the lead investigator, praised the victims for their courage in coming forward. She said:

“These are extremely difficult times for these women. It would not have been easy, emotionally or physically, to relive their ordeals from when they were younger.”

She added:

“We know how hard it is to report these offences, but it is vital to bring those responsible to justice. We are committed to supporting victims through the process with specially trained officers.”
