Burglary, Driving Offences and More
- Cawley scaled a fence to get into the premises.
- He used one of the stored cars to smash through a reception door.
- Seven sets of car keys and a petty cash tin were stolen.
- He was convicted of burglary, driving while disqualified, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.
Police Praise Quick Action Amid Danger
“The officers on patrol that night did a brilliant job to get to the scene so quickly and catch Charlie Cawley red-handed,” said Police Investigator Nicola Wiley.
“He showed complete disregard for officer safety by ramming the police vehicle in a failed escape attempt. I’m pleased a judge has put him behind bars.”
“We take motor vehicle crime very seriously because of the impact on businesses and families. Anyone aware of stolen cars being dealt with for criminal purposes should contact police immediately.”
