Counterfeit Cash Scam Leads to Major Drug Bust in Canterbury

Police swooped on a car park in Ivy Lane, Canterbury, after a laptop sale went horribly wrong on Sunday night. The victim was duped with fake cash and ended up empty-handed just before 5pm on 28 November 2021.

Quick Police Action Nets Two Arrests

Officers tracked down a suspicious vehicle later that evening on Waterham Road. Inside were two men, aged 21 and 20, both from Canterbury, who were arrested over the counterfeit money.

Massive Drug Haul Discovered

  • 700 grams of suspected Class A drugs
  • 2 kilos of cannabis
  • Scales and small deal bags
  • Mobile phone seized

The 21-year-old was additionally arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and cannabis.

Legal Status: Bail and Investigation Continues

The 21-year-old man is on bail until 21 December. The younger man was released under investigation as inquiries continue.
