Sussex Cannabis Dealer Busted and Jailed for 16 Months
A cannabis dealer with supply lines stretching from Sussex to Tunbridge Wells has been locked up for 16 months.
Caught Red-Handed in Car Chase
Richard Wolvey, 36, was spotted acting suspiciously while driving a Toyota Rav4 on the evening of 19 May 2020. An officer tailing him finally stopped the car on Eridge Road and found over £1,000 in cash, drugs, and a burner phone inside.
Drug Haul Uncovered After Home Search
Police also raided Wolvey’s home in Brook Close, Crowborough, uncovering around 225 grams of cannabis. Wolvey, of Pennington Manor, Southborough, admitted everything during interviews, saying: “It’s all mine, send me to prison, I’m ready.”
From Second Chance to Second Strike
Wolvey was previously jailed for drug offences and was out on licence when caught dealing again. He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on 14 July and was sentenced to 16 months behind bars.
Detective Constable Lucy Basson warned: “Selling cannabis invariably funds wider criminal activities often linked to the exploitation of vulnerable people. Wolvey was buying and selling large quantities from someone tied to an organised crime gang. He ignored his second chance.”
