Worthing Man Jailed for Breaching Sex Offender Rules
Kevin Challen, 55, from Worthing, has been sentenced to prison after flouting strict sex offender rules. First convicted in March 2021 for possessing indecent images of children found on his computer, Challen initially received a suspended sentence.
Breached SHPO and Failed to Update Register
Challen was charged with three serious offences for breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and failing to comply with notification requirements on the Sex Offenders Register. He pleaded guilty to all charges.
31 Months Jail and Indefinite SHPO
On March 15, Challen appeared at Lewes Crown Court for sentencing. He was handed a 31-month prison term, and his SHPO was extended to run indefinitely to prevent any future breaches.
