Paedophile Caught Sending Sick Messages to Undercover Cop
Alan Morris, 65, from Poundhurst Lane, Ruckinge near Ashford, has been locked up for sending sexualised messages and explicit videos to someone he thought was a child online in February 2024. He brazenly admitted his age in the chats while breaking the law.
Broke Court Order to Groom Kids Online
Morris was already slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) back in 2018 after previous offences. The order banned him from accessing the internet without permission and using devices without monitoring software — rules he blatantly ignored.
Police Sting Nets Monster
Kent Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) swooped on Morris on 8 February 2024. A search of his mobile phone uncovered disturbing indecent images of children and fresh sexual messages. Morris was charged the same day.
Six Years Behind Bars for Sex Crimes
Morris pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including attempting to sexually communicate with a child, making and distributing indecent images, and trying to cause a child to engage in sexual activity — offences dating back to October 2023.
On 1 July, Canterbury Crown Court hit him with a six-year prison sentence, which included an extra year for breaching the SHPO. He will serve four years on licence after release.
Detective Constable Barbara Zamorska, POLIT, said: “SHPOs exist to protect children from predators like Alan Morris. He showed utter contempt for the court order and tried to lure teenage girls online. I hope this sentence reminds offenders we will relentlessly hunt them down and bring them to justice.”
