Coventry Burglar Busted: Fork-Wielding Thief Nabbed After Two Warwick Break-Ins
Fork-Wielding Burglar Strikes Twice in Warwick
Ryan Kean, 41, from Orton Road, Coventry, has been locked up after a bungled burglary attempt followed by a successful heist in Warwick. On July 2020, Kean tried to break into a house on Eaton Close armed with a garden fork. The homeowner disturbed him, forcing Kean to flee empty-handed.
Garden Fork Leads to Forensic Evidence
Just a month later, Kean struck again. CCTV caught him scaling a fence on Myton Road, then using that same garden fork to jimmy open a window. He made off with a haul of jewellery and other stolen goods.
Forensics tied Kean to the crime, matching evidence left on the garden forks. He was arrested, charged, and finally sentenced on January 5 at Coventry Crown Court for burglary and attempted burglary.
Cops Praise Swift Justice for Burglary Victims
“Burglary is extremely traumatic for victims and leaves a lasting impact,” said Detective Constable Christopher Pitt of Leamington Proactive CID. “I’m relieved Kean is now in jail. This sentence should reassure people about our commitment to combating burglary and prosecuting offenders.”
