Man Arrested Over Shocking Gravesend Robbery
Neighbourhood officers have arrested a man suspected of robbing a 60-year-old in Gravesend. On Wednesday 13 December 2023, the victim was in Berkley Crescent when he stopped to check on someone’s welfare. Suddenly, he was threatened and assaulted by a stranger.
Victim Forced to Withdraw Cash at ATM
The suspect allegedly forced the victim to accompany him to an ATM, where a quantity of cash was withdrawn and stolen. Police launched an immediate investigation.
Suspect Caught and Charged
On Thursday 4 January 2024, an officer on patrol in King Street spotted and detained a suspect. Aaron Fontaine, 40, of The Hill, Northfleet, was charged with robbery by North Kent CID detectives.
Fontaine appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 6 January. He was conditionally bailed to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 5 February.
