Shih Tzu Gizmo Left Blind and Burned After Sick Attack
Two-year-old Shih Tzu Gizmo suffered horrific third and fourth degree burns after a savage assault left him hospitalised for a week. Owner Mandy Garner let Gizmo outside as usual, only to find him shaking and covered in burns moments later.
Brutal Attack Leaves Gizmo Horrifically Injured
Gizmo wasn’t just burned – he also has severe, irreparable eye damage, internal bruising, and a wounded mouth from being kicked or punched. Mandy shared her heartbreak on Facebook: “My service animal is the sweetest baby you can have, very playful and friendly. Now his life will never be the same, he will never be able to play with his toys or even see again.”
Stronger Laws Aim to Protect Pets Like Gizmo
The UK recently toughened animal cruelty laws. Last month, MPs increased the maximum jail sentence from six months to five years. Courts can now also slap on unlimited fines and ban offenders from owning any animals in the future. These harsher penalties are a bid to stop terrible attacks like Gizmo’s.
