Young Drug Dealer Nabbed in Stafford with £1,800 Worth of Class A Goods
Rayon Saunders, just 18, was caught red-handed with a stash of heroin and crack cocaine on Stafford’s Marston Road. Police swooped on Thursday 10 September around 1.45pm and found Saunders with 108 wraps of the deadly drugs, £360 in cash, and two mobile phones.
Attempted Escape Ends in Struggle with Police
Officers say Saunders tried to make a run for it but was quickly detained after a scuffle that left one officer with cuts and bruises. A search of his home uncovered a massive £6,161 in cash, believed to be criminal proceeds.
Guilty Plea Nets Three Years in Young Offenders Institution
Saunders admitted to possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. On Monday 16 November, Stafford Crown Court sentenced him to three years’ detention in a young offenders’ institute. While he was cleared of acquiring and possessing criminal property, the £6,000-plus cash haul was still confiscated.
Police Crackdown on County Lines Drug Operations
“Officers witnessed a known drug user meeting with Saunders and acted accordingly to take another drug dealer off Stafford’s streets,” said Sgt Tom Fotherby of the Stafford neighbourhood action team.
“We will continue to break through County Lines operations and bring offenders to justice, making the communities we serve safer places to live.”
