Teen Drug Dealer Nabbed with £1,800 Worth of Heroin and Crack in Stafford
18-Year-Old Caught Red-Handed
Rayon Saunders, just 18, was caught by Stafford police on Marston Road with a stash of 108 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine valued at around £1,800. Officers also found £360 in cash and two mobile phones during the arrest on Thursday, 10 September at 1:45pm.
After trying to make a run for it, Saunders was tackled by police. One officer suffered cuts and bruises in the struggle but managed to detain and search him.
Big Cash Haul and Mobile Phone Intel
Data retrieved from one of Saunders’ phones revealed he was actively supplying drugs in the area. A further search of his home uncovered a hefty £6,161 in cash, believed to be criminal proceeds – all seized by police.
Three Years Behind Bars
Saunders pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs—both heroin and crack cocaine. On Monday, 16 November, he was sentenced to three years’ detention at a young offenders’ institute by Stafford Crown Court.
Though Saunders was acquitted of acquiring and possessing criminal property, the cash haul was still confiscated by authorities.
Police Crack Down on County Lines
Sgt Tom Fotherby of the Stafford neighbourhood action team said: “Officers witnessed a known drug user meeting with Saunders and acted accordingly to take another drug dealer off Stafford’s streets.”
“We will continue to break through County Lines operations and bring offenders to justice, making the communities we serve safer places to live.”
