Drug Dealer’s Dramatic Dash Ends in Arrest
Ellis Kilbride’s desperate bid to flee the cops spectacularly backfired on Farrell Street.
Foot Chase and Furious Struggle
The 24-year-old, homeless and on the run, tried to ditch bags of crack cocaine while officers closed in on foot. Near Wharf Street, he tossed more drugs onto a rooftop, but cops were relentless.
When officers finally caught him, Kilbride fought back, landing a punch to an officer’s chest before being restrained.
Big Haul of Drugs and Cash Seized
Police uncovered a large stash of Class A drugs and nearly £3,000 in cash. Kilbride was arrested on suspicion of possessing crack with intent to supply and hauled into custody.
Community Tips Lead to Court Sentence
The warrant, executed at 5.25pm on June 3, 2022, followed community reports of drug dealing at Brickfield Park.
“Kilbride’s arrest was initially based on information provided by the local community in relation to allegations of youths buying drugs from two people at Brickfield Park,” said Detective Sergeant Tom Hall.
“He made great efforts to avoid capture by throwing away the drugs he was in possession of and assaulting an officer, but it wasn’t going to stop us.”
“In cases like this, we rely on information provided by members of the public, and I would encourage people to keep contacting us if they believe drug-related activity is taking place in their community.”
On July 7, Kilbride pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to assaulting an emergency worker and possessing crack with intent to supply. He was sentenced to five years and seven months behind bars the same day.
