£20,000 Reward Up for Grabs in Hunt for Darren Whitehouse’s Hit-and-Run Killer
More than a year after Darren Whitehouse was fatally struck in a shocking hit-and-run in Tipton, police and his devastated family are pleading for answers. Crimestoppers has now launched a massive £20,000 reward for information leading to the driver responsible.
Tragic Hit-and-Run on Tipton Pavement
On the afternoon of Saturday 27th February 2021, a silver Infiniti Q50S mounted the pavement on St Marks Road, Tipton, and slammed into Darren, 43. The dad-of-one, who had just been walking his dog and chatting with a friend, was killed instantly.
The driver fled the scene, leaving the Infiniti abandoned on nearby Griffiths Street. Police later discovered the car was stolen and had false number plates.
Two Arrested But No Charges Yet
Despite a lengthy investigation and two arrests, no one has yet been charged. Officers are desperate to find out who was behind the wheel.
“Darren’s family has been left devastated and they still don’t have the answers they deserve,” said Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “I believe someone knows what happened that day. Please think of Darren’s family and come forward.”
