Terrifying Kidnap Plot Unraveled in Nottingham
A 43-year-old entertainer was lured into a terrifying trap after responding to what he thought was a booking request for a 60th birthday party. The victim was called by someone claiming to be a client interested in hiring his act.
Masked Men Launch Brutal Attack
When the entertainer arrived at a Manor Street address in Sneinton to discuss the gig, he was ambushed by two men dressed in black and wearing balaclavas. They attacked him, bound him, and gagged him before moving him between properties in Wollaton and Rise Park.
The kidnapping was part of a cruel plan to extort a large sum of money from his wife and father.
Police Rescue and Hunt for Suspects
Specially trained officers and detectives launched a full-scale investigation. After around 32 hours, on Thursday 17 February 2022, the victim was abandoned on Gawthorne Street. He was left nearly naked in boxer shorts and socks, his arms tied and face covered with duct tape.
Officers rushed him to Queen’s Medical Centre where he was treated for multiple injuries. Thankfully, he has since made a full recovery.
Detectives tracked suspects using phone data and ANPR cameras, executing a series of warrants resulting in the arrest and charging of several men.
