David Fuller Slapped with More Jail Time for Shocking Mortuary Abuse
David Fuller, already serving two whole life sentences for brutal 1987 murders, has been hit with additional prison time over fresh sexual offences committed in hospital mortuaries.
New Charges Reveal Scale of Mortuary Horror
The 68-year-old was first convicted in December 2021 for murdering Wendy Knell and Caroline Pierce. Alongside those convictions, he also received 12 years for abusing 78 deceased women at Tunbridge Wells and Kent and Sussex hospitals.
But a relentless Kent and Essex Serious Crime investigation uncovered a staggering 23 more victims, pushing the total to 101 deceased women abused between 2005 and 2020.
Authorities confirmed 13 victims’ identities; the other 10 remain unknown. Fuller pled guilty at Croydon Crown Court in November 2022 to multiple charges covering these victims:
- 10 counts under Section 70 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for identified victims
- 2 counts under the same act for unidentified victims
- 2 charges for possession of extreme pornography linked to 13 identified victims
- 2 more charges for extreme porn possession related to 10 unidentified victims
Judge Commutes Four More Years Behind Bars
On 7 December 2022, Fuller was hauled before the Old Bailey, where Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb QC handed him an extra four years, to run concurrently with his life terms.
“Among those you abused were women who had lived fulfilling lives. They did not lose their dignity until you took it from them,” the judge said. She slammed the offences as an “astonishing breach of trust” and called out Fuller’s total lack of remorse.
Police Push for Justice for Every Victim
Detective Superintendent Ivan Beasley praised the dedication of investigators tackling what he described as a “systematic and unimaginably depraved” crime spree spanning over four decades.
“This has brought immeasurable suffering to hundreds of families. Our priority from day one was justice for every victim. Fuller showed no remorse, only self-pity,” Beasley said.
He also confirmed there’s no evidence linking Fuller to other offences and hopes this marks the end of the investigation so victims’ families can find some peace.
Fuller will now remain behind bars for life, ensuring he pays for every twisted crime committed in the shadows of the mortuary.
