Man Found Dead in Castle Street Car Park Sparks Murder Probe

Kent Police were called to a car park on Castle Street at 1:44pm on Monday 10 April 2023 over concerns for a man’s welfare. What they found was grim.

Fifty-one-year-old Guy Malbec had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four Arrests Made After Shocking Killing

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate quickly launched an investigation. By Thursday 13 April, police had arrested four men in connection with the murder.

  • A 50-year-old man from canterbury/" title="Canterbury" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Canterbury was taken into custody on Thursday and remains held.
  • On the same day, three men aged 21, 27, and 49 were each charged with murder.

Suspects to Face Maidstone Crown Court

All three charged men appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court and have been remanded to Maidstone Crown Court for their next hearing on Monday 17 April.

The investigation continues as detectives work to uncover what led to this brutal killing in broad daylight.
