Paedophile Adam North Jailed for 18 Years After Abusing Two Children
Adam North, 41, from Willesborough in Ashford, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty of multiple child sex offences at Canterbury Crown Court.
Convicted on Multiple Counts of Sexual and Physical Abuse
North was convicted of eight counts of sexual assault and two counts of physically assaulting a young child. The court heard he began abusing the two children from a very young age and often subjected them to brutal physical attacks, including strangulation.
Victims Finally Speak Out After Years of Suffering
The victims reported the abuse to police in 2019, triggering an investigation by the Canterbury Vulnerability Investigation Team. North was arrested and charged following the probe.
Detective Warns Others to Come Forward
“By denying the offences North has put his two victims through the harrowing ordeal of having to relive the abuse,” said Detective Sergeant Ally Franks.
“His actions will leave a lasting impact, but the victims have shown immense courage in coming forward and detailing their ordeals.”
“If anyone has been a victim of any sexual offence, it is never too late to report it. We promise to handle all information with the utmost confidence and sensitivity.”
