Predator Caught with Shocking Child Abuse Images
Kristian Fernandez, 65, has been slammed with a two-year, three-month jail term at Canterbury Crown Court after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child.
Police Nab Fernandez During Routine Check
Fernandez, from Clements Road, Ramsgate, was visited by Kent Police’s Offender Management Unit on June 6, 2019. This was part of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) from a 2009 conviction for similar crimes.
Officers spotted an indecent image on a phone at his home and seized the device immediately.
Alarming Evidence Unearthed
Forensic analysis uncovered a trove of vile content, including 16 category A images – the most graphic and disturbing under police and court classifications.
Fernandez was arrested and charged with three offences involving over 20 category A, B, and C images and videos.
Justice Served
Jean Farbrace, Kent Police investigator, said: “The children abused in indecent images are real victims of real crimes and anyone accessing such images is complicit in their abuse.”
“Fernandez continued to access such images despite being the subject of an order imposed by a court and the sentence imposed on him shows that those who take part in this activity face prison when caught.”
Fernandez’s conviction is a stark reminder: offenders won’t escape the long arm of the law. Police vow to keep hunting predators every step of the way.
