Horror in Moseley: Man Murders Wife and Next-Door Neighbour
As his marriage fell apart, Tamer Moustafa made wild, baseless accusations against his wife Nelly, claiming affairs with their neighbour and even his own father. But on the morning of Monday, 16 March, the situation turned deadly.
Chilling Phone Call and Brutal Stabbings
After sending his two oldest sons off to work and taking the younger ones to school, Moustafa returned to their Belle Walk home. Just after 11am, he shocked emergency services with a chilling confession — he said he had killed his wife. Calmly, he lit a cigarette outside while waiting for the police.
Moments later, he vanished through a hedge dividing his house from the neighbour’s. In just two minutes, Moustafa stabbed the neighbour’s wife, Zahida Bi, in addition to his own wife.
Tragic Deaths Shake Two Families
- Nelly Moustafa, 43, was found with multiple stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
- Zahida Bi, 52, was discovered in her garage, rushed to hospital, but also died from her injuries.
Police arrested Tamer Moustafa, who claimed chest pains after consuming a large amount of cocaine but required no treatment.
Guilty Verdict and Pending Sentence
Moustafa, 40, faced trial charged with both murders. He pleaded manslaughter, citing a delusional disorder, but the jury dismissed his defence. He was convicted of both murders and awaits sentencing at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, 4 December.
“Two families have been left without mothers in deeply shocking circumstances. The violence inflicted on these women is incomprehensible,” said Detective Inspector Wes Martin.
“There are no winners here as even the conviction of Tamer Moustafa leaves his children with neither parent.”
