Knife Attack Horror on Quiet Street: Victim Left Fighting for Life After Brutal Assault
A man in his 30s was viciously stabbed after stepping in following a strange argument in Wareham Close. What started as an innocent walk back to his home quickly turned into a nightmare.
Shouting Match Sparks Violent Attack
The victim had just finished work and was getting out of his van when he heard a man and woman arguing nearby. Curious, he glanced towards the dispute and spotted a smashed mobile phone on the ground.
As he began to walk away, 19-year-old Jaden Scott suddenly started shouting at him. Even as the victim moved down his driveway, Scott kept yelling, then boldly stepped onto the property, swearing and causing a scene.
From Argument to Assault
The victim tried to calm Scott and asked him to leave. Instead, Scott headbutted him. Fearful of what might happen next, the victim shoved Scott away. A struggle broke out, with the victim managing to push Scott down the road.
Then things took a deadly turn — Scott pulled a knife from his sock and chased the victim. Halfway up his own driveway, the victim stumbled and fell, curling up to protect himself as Scott lunged with the blade.
Brutal Stabbing Fight
- The victim felt a hard punch to the thigh but realised he had been stabbed.
- Rolling on the ground trying to defend himself, Scott continued stabbing him in the body.
- Summoning strength, the victim wrestled Scott into a bear hug and grabbed the knife, struggling to disarm him.
- After a fierce tussle, he kicked Scott away, who then fled the scene.
Justice Served: Four Years Behind Bars
Scott, from Oak Drive, Eastwood, was arrested nearby shortly after the attack – having just jumped into a taxi. He pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.
At Nottingham Crown Court, he was sentenced to four years and four months in prison.
The victim was treated in hospital with stitches before being discharged.
Detective Sergeant Julian Eminson-Ferry said: “This was a vicious attack which could easily have resulted in far more serious injuries. I am glad Scott is now behind bars and hope this brings some closure for the victim. “We take knife crime extremely seriously and acted swiftly to arrest Scott. Violence like this is unacceptable. We remain fully committed to removing dangerous weapons and tackling violent crime across our communities.”
