Leamington Man Caught Red-Handed with Crack and Heroin
Hudhayfah Bernard, 30, from Marston Close, was arrested after a drug deal sting in Leamington last June. Police spotted suspicious activity on Trinity Street on 22 June 2019 and swooped on Bernard’s Ford Fiesta.
Crack, Heroin, and Cash Found in Car Search
Officers discovered a stash of crack cocaine and heroin inside the vehicle. Alongside the drugs, they seized a large sum of cash. A mobile phone taken from Bernard revealed two months’ worth of messages related to drug dealing with multiple contacts.
Two and a Half Years Behind Bars
After further investigations, Bernard was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2½ years in prison.
“Bernard is off the streets and behind bars thanks to quick police action and solid detective work,” said Detective Sergeant Sarah Wolsey. “Drugs cause misery not just for users but the whole community. We’ll keep targeting dealers to disrupt their activity and protect our communities.”
Wolsey added, “I hope this sentence warns others and reassures the public that we’re committed to bringing drug offenders to justice.”
