Spirit thieves targeted Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells shops in a brazen spree that lasted almost two months!
Shoplifting Spree Hits Sainsbury’s and Waitrose
Between 15 October and 6 December 2023, suspects swiped about 50 bottles of spirits from Sainsbury’s stores in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, plus a Waitrose in Kings Hill. The thieves struck either solo or as a pair, making off with a hefty haul of booze.
Couple Arrested Over Theft Spree
Police arrested Mirela Durac, 33, and Leonard-Marius Durac, 34, both from Plaistow High Street, on 6 December. Mirela faces five counts of theft while Leonard-Marius has been charged with two.
Court Date Set for January
Both suspects are now on bail and due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 3 January 2024.
