Drug Dealers Busted in Massive £350k Edinburgh Raid!

Moses Irungu, 40, has been slammed with four and a half years behind bars. His partner in crime, Nontuthuzelo Halana, 44, got eight months. The High Court in Aberdeen dealt the sentences after a slick intelligence-led crackdown wiped out more than £350,000 worth of illegal drugs from Scotland’s streets.

Big Haul in Edinburgh Drug Bust

The operation kicked off back in May 2020 with police raiding homes on Pilton Drive North and Steads Place in Edinburgh. They struck gold—or rather, pounds of amphetamine and heroin—seizing 22kg of amphetamine, two kilos of heroin, plus £10,000 in cash.

Follow-Up Raid Uncovers Crack Cocaine and More Cash

Irungu was arrested soon after. Then a further search in June at a Ferry Gait Crescent property uncovered crack cocaine, mixing agents, and another £4,000 in cash. Halana was caught up at the same address and taken into custody.

Police Send a Clear Warning to Drug Dealers

“We welcome the conviction and sentencing of Irungu and Halana for their involvement in drug supply,” said Detective Inspector Gary Reid from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit. “This intelligence-led operation has recovered over £350,000 worth of drugs. We want to send a clear message: if you deal drugs in Scotland, expect to be caught.”

“Irungu and Halana were key players in the supply chain. Bringing offenders to justice and disrupting drug networks is our top priority. No one is untouchable. The public’s help remains crucial—if you know anything, contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
