Armed Crack Dealer Nabbed in Rubery
21-year-old Khalid Khan was arrested by the NCA’s Armed Operations Unit at a flat in Rubery on 13 November 2021. As officers stormed the property, a jacket, drugs, and a mobile phone were hurled from the window onto the street below.
Dangerous Weapon Found in Jacket Pocket
Inside the jacket pocket, officers discovered a Retay blank-firing handgun that had been illegally converted to fire live ammo — and it was loaded. The drugs were identified as crack cocaine.
Khan Admits Charges, Gets Nearly a Decade Behind Bars

NCA Commander Vows to Root Out Gun Crime
“Khalid Khan was effectively caught red-handed in possession of a deadly weapon, and didn’t seem worried by the fact there was a young child living in the same property,” said NCA Birmingham Branch Commander Mick Pope.
“We are determined to do all we can to disrupt and dismantle the organised crime groups involved in putting guns on the streets of the West Midlands. But we need the help of the public, and I’d encourage anyone with information about illegally held firearms to contact Crimestoppers or their local police.”
